WHAT CHALLENGES CAN YOU HELP WITH?

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, inattention and/or hyperactivity, body image, stress management, life transitions, healthy relationships, emotion regulation, stress management, and life skills. If I believe that an issue or concern requires specialized care that I am not able to provide, I will let you know and can support you with connecting to appropriate resources.

WHAT IS A PHONE CONSULTATION?

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to give us the opportunity to discuss what you are seeking from therapy and to answer any questions you may have. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IN-PERSON AND TELEHEALTH?

I offer both in-person and virtual services.

Currently, I offer in-person services on Mondays and Thursdays in the Broad Ripple neighborhood of Indianapolis.

Telehealth refers to the provision of services using technology when the therapist and client are in two different locations. Virtual therapy may allow for greater access of services, such as by accommodating geographic distance and busy schedules, or by meeting someone where they are at if mental health needs preclude attending in-person appointments. The same quality of service is provided through telehealth as is provided in-person. Virtual therapy may not be appropriate for all presenting concerns, and I would be happy to discuss with you if this may be an appropriate option. Both of us must be physically present in a state in which I am licensed for us to have our teletherapy session, which presently are Indiana, California, and Oregon.

WHICH TELEHEALTH PLATFORM DO YOU USE?

I use Spruce Health for videoconferencing and secure messaging. Please read more about it here.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

I am fully private pay and accept check, debit/credit card and FSA or HSA payments.

HOW DO I USE MY OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS?

I recommend checking with your insurance company about whether you have out-of-network mental health benefits. Some questions you may ask are:

  • Does my plan reimburse for out-of-network mental health providers? If so, what percentage is reimbursed?
  • What is my yearly deductible and have I met it?
  • What is the process of submitting a Statement for Reimbursement (“Superbill”)?
  • How many sessions do you cover per year?

If you discover that you have out-of-network benefits and would like to use them, I will provide you a “Superbill” at the end of each month for you to submit with your claim to your insurance company.

WHY “REDWOOD HAVEN”?

Redwoods are the State Tree of California, and I wanted my practice name to be a nod to my home state. They represent so much of what I would like my practice to embody. “Haven” reflects my intention to create an inviting, safe space for my clients.

Did you know…

  • Redwoods are some of the oldest living trees and are fire resistant, and they are symbolic of wisdom, vitality, and resilience.
  • Redwoods have shallow but very widespread root systems. Their roots intertwine with each other, creating stability and supporting each other in adverse conditions such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, and strong winds.
  • Additionally, these root systems nourish young, sick, and old trees. Redwoods take care of each other, which makes them stronger as a community.
